"You wouldn’t, you’re a stubborn man and there are plenty of days where I thank the Gods that you are a King for your life might have ended rather swiftly otherwise."
Despite his attempt to cheer her up she couldn’t muster more than a sad smile. There was nothing funny about this and in this moment she felt as if he was treating the whole situation too lightly.
"What if you can’t convince him? What will happen then? Will you take me by force? Will you become just like him?” It came out sharper than she intended it to, yet perhaps this would do the trick, make him see the gravity of the situation. “Well?”
His words came out in an incoherent mutter, clearly disagreeing with her. He wasn’t that stubborn, certainly not to the degree that it would be his death.
"I know you want to be with me, how would that be force?," he arrogantly asked. Foolish boy. "I want you to become my wife, we can get around your betrothal. We shall be together."
She was overreacting, wasn’t she? He wasn’t as terrible as Raphael, nor would he ever be. Raphael had tricked her into becoming his betrothal, how was Caspian the same? He asked her, had asked her before.. she had made it apparent this was what she wanted as well.
"I can’t give you up, don’t you understand that?"
