The King may find a Queen after all

pennylancaster:

"You wouldn’t, you’re a stubborn man and there are plenty of days where I thank the Gods that you are a King for your life might have ended rather swiftly otherwise."

Despite his attempt to cheer her up she couldn’t muster more than a sad smile. There was nothing funny about this and in this moment she felt as if he was treating the whole situation too lightly.

"What if you can’t convince him? What will happen then? Will you take me by force? Will you become just like him?” It came out sharper than she intended it to, yet perhaps this would do the trick, make him see the gravity of the situation. “Well?”

His words came out in an incoherent mutter, clearly disagreeing with her. He wasn’t that stubborn, certainly not to the degree that it would be his death.

"I know you want to be with me, how would that be force?," he arrogantly asked. Foolish boy. "I want you to become my wife, we can get around your betrothal. We shall be together."

She was overreacting, wasn’t she? He wasn’t as terrible as Raphael, nor would he ever be. Raphael had tricked her into becoming his betrothal, how was Caspian the same? He asked her, had asked her before.. she had made it apparent this was what she wanted as well.

"I can’t give you up, don’t you understand that?"

She found herself inch into it, slender arms wrapped around his neck in the heat of the moment; drawing him closer, always closer. She sighed softly when the inevitable happened and he drew away.

"You know it’s not so easy. What would you do if someone told you, you couldn’t be with a woman because ‘your King’ desires her?"

She wasn’t as responsive the second time, didn’t answer the kiss and instead let go. She turned around for a moment, only to rest her hand on his cheek when facing him again.

"What if he’ll try to hurt you? or there’s no other option but for you to hurt him? I don’t want anyone to get hurt over this, not over a woman."

"I would listen to my King and do as he desires," he stubbornly replied, yet both knew this was a lie. He desired Lilliandil like he had never desired a woman before and he would be damned if he let another man take her away from him. King or no king.

Her concern was touching, and he shouldn’t discard it so easily. There was just this lingering feeling in the pit of his stomach. He knew it would most likely come down to a fight, but it was a risk he’d be willing to take.

"He won’t hurt me, however I can’t predict what his reaction may be. I wouldn’t blame him if he got angry, after all I have never behold a woman as lovely as you in my entire life."

He took her hands, lifting them one by one to press a kiss to it, to all her fingers, all until he saw her smile and giggle again. He would hate to see her distressed any longer than absolutely necessary.

"You belong to me, and I will do anything to keep you."

"Often, my- Caspian."

A nervous giggle escaped his lips. She had unintentionally made it sound as if he was hers, which she was almost entirely certain he would never be.

"I should warn you.."

The touch of his hands was tempting at the very least, yet he should know this wasn’t something she could get involved with. She already belonged to another. Not by heart but by force.

But even she couldn’t deny his kisses, and she tried to draw back yet all attempts were fruitless. She only ended up in his arms again.

She was truly adorable in her own right. Their kiss was one of passion, yet tender and never lasting long.

"I know."

He took a deep breath, having no desire to start on unimportant matters now. He would speak to Raphael as soon as he returned, make sure he understood this was not a matter of principal yet a matter of true love. Was he going to deny his King his one true love?

"I will talk to him, he can’t claim you as his own after and even if he does.. I am his King, he will know what happens when he defies me.. now, let’s not linger on such saddening matters. There’s something else I’d much rather be doing now."

He smirked, leaning in for another kiss.

She had gone for a walk. She felt locked up when staying inside for long periods of time. The wilderness was where she belonged, preferably at night. At night was when her brothers and sisters appeared, when she could really be alone with her thoughts and her family.

She hadn’t anticipated him to be there. She knew he often went to his chambers in the early evening. Something was bothering him, even she could tell, yet she hadn’t been able to muster the courage to ask him what. After all, she was a quest and shouldn’t mingle in with his personal business.

He hadn’t been subtle, and his presence was noted even before he blocked her vision with his hands and spoke. It was a pleasant surprise nevertheless and she smiled happily as she turned around to him.

"My liege, is there anything I can do for you?," she innocently asked, averting her eyes down to the ground out of mere respect. Perhaps so that he wouldn’t see the blush that graced her cheeks as soon as he spoke either.

"My liege? Oh no, how often do I have to tell you to refer to me as simply Caspian, lady Lilliandil?"

He chuckled lightly, removing his hands from her eyes before he spun her around; for the shortest second his hands rested on her waist before he regained his composure again and withdrew from doing any more.

"Your mere presence is enough, however there’s something else you could do for me."

His hands wandered up again, lightly touching her cheek before he lifted her chin. He had to see that she desired him as much as he desired her, yet before he even really had a look at her he plunged his lips down on hers. It was a little rough, rougher than he had intended and he eased into a softer kiss.

While they were alone there was nothing to stop him.

He was restless, torn between scorching and ruling aimlessly. Even since the Voyage of the Dawn Treader he had been restless and he knew exactly why. There had been a fair maiden in his presence whom had not been there before. A star, glowing brighter than the sun, the undying subject of his attention. Not that she knew, God forbid if she knew.

"What is such a fair maiden doing all by herself?"

A boyish grin had spread across his cheek as he managed to catch up on her, and he wrapped his hands over her eyes so that she couldn’t immediately tell who was there. Not that it left a whole lot to the imagination. His voice wasn’t hard to distinct.
